WEEK2 - PINWHEEL

Hi everyone sorry again this is a little late. The reason it was late is because I had trouble uploading on my other blog. But anyway here we go. Today I'm going to be showing you how to make these fabulous pinwheels. They are great for decoration in any house. One thing I love about them is that you can customize the pinwheel with any paper you want. You can also add jewels at the end and a ribbon to make it your own. It's all about getting crafty!

DIFFICULTY: 1/3

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
*double sided square scrapbooking paper - $2.00 shop/craft shop. (if it's not double sided you can glue 2 of the same pieces together)
*ruler
*scissors
*skewer
*pencil
*small thick rectangular rubber (if you don't have one you can just cut a piece off a bigger rubber)
*thumbtack

Step1:
Draw an 'x' on you piece of paper. Starting from one corner and ending at another.

Step2:
Cut from the corners (along the lines) stopping an inch before the centre.

Step3:
Gather the corners of the flaps (alternating:1yes1no) to the centre a push a thumbtack all the way in. (BE CAREFUWHEN USING THUMBTACKS/PINS)

Step4:
Push the end of your thumbtack in the rubber so the pinwheel stays in place.

Step5:
Stick the pointed side of the skewer into the bottom of the rubber so you have a stick for your pinwheel.
And your done!

OPTIONAL:
You can put the pinwheel in a mason jar and make more than one. You can also decorate them with jewels, ribbons, stickers or anything you like. On one of my pinwheels I wrapped some string around my stick to add an extra touch. I also put mine in a mason jar with a green plait (made out of ribbon) along top of the jar.

I hope you enjoy this craft xx
